Front Range Kitchen Design, Colorado Springs to Fort Collins

Dream Home Kitchens designs kitchens, builds custom cabinetry and manages kitchen remodels for homes along Colorado's Front Range, from Colorado Springs in the south to Fort Collins in the north and the communities in between. Each town below has its own page, because a 1920s Denver bungalow, a Highlands Ranch two-story and a new build in Timnath ask very different things of a kitchen.

Our Service Area Along the I-25 Corridor

About 130 miles of I-25 run between our southernmost and northernmost service areas. The corridor below is drawn to scale. Pick a town for what we'd plan around there, or find the nearest one if yours isn't named; smaller communities are covered on the page for the city beside them.

Kitchen Design by Region

Pikes Peak Region

The highest homes on the corridor, under Pikes Peak, from Old North End Victorians to new builds in the Tri-Lakes area.

Douglas County

Master-planned neighborhoods from the 1980s on, open rural lots east of Parker, and the newer neighborhoods around the butte at Castle Rock.

South Metro

Established suburbs, estate lots in Cherry Hills Village, and Aurora's newer communities to the southeast.

Denver & the West

Denver's older neighborhoods and the Jefferson County foothill towns that look straight at the mountains.

Boulder County & Broomfield

The US 36 towns, Boulder's historic districts and its stricter energy code, and Longmont, from its historic core to newer neighborhoods.

Northern Colorado

Loveland and Fort Collins, with Old Town houses near the center and new subdivisions out toward Windsor and Timnath.

What Changes Between Colorado Springs and Fort Collins

The Front Range shares a climate, broadly. The rules, the houses and the light don't line up nearly as neatly, and they decide more about a kitchen than most people expect.

  1. 01

    Altitude and appliances

Elevation along the corridor runs from roughly 5,000 feet in Fort Collins to over 6,000 in Colorado Springs and higher still around Monument. Many gas ranges and cooktops need a high-altitude adjustment per the manufacturer's instructions, so we confirm the specification before the appliance package is final, not after it arrives.

  2. 02

    Dry air and timber

Indoor humidity here drops low in winter, and solid wood moves when it does. Doors and drawer fronts are detailed for that movement, finishes are chosen to cope with it, and site-built work in the right timbers is given time to acclimate before it's fitted. It's the reason we treat materials and finishes as a technical choice as much as a visual one.

  3. 03

    Sun from the west

Strong high-altitude sun fades finishes and floods west-facing rooms with late-afternoon glare and heat. The mountain view usually sits on that same side. We plan window walls, shading, task lighting and finish choices together so the view stays and the glare doesn't.

  4. 04

    Who signs off

Permits and reviews change at every city line. El Paso County towns go through the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department; Highlands Ranch is unincorporated Douglas County; Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins run their own departments, and many master-planned communities add HOA review for exterior changes such as new vents or windows. We find out early which apply to your house.

Questions

Questions About Our Front Range Service Areas

01

Which communities does Dream Home Kitchens serve?

We work along the Front Range from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins, including Monument, Castle Rock, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Cherry Hills Village, Aurora, Denver, Lakewood, Arvada, Broomfield, Boulder, Longmont and Loveland, plus the smaller towns around each of them.

02

My town doesn't have its own page. Do you still work there?

Smaller communities are covered on the page for the nearest city, so Golden and Evergreen sit with Lakewood, Windsor and Timnath with Fort Collins, and Castle Pines with Castle Rock. If you're between two pages or just outside the corridor, ask us in a consultation request and we'll tell you plainly.

03

Does a kitchen remodel need a permit on the Front Range?

Usually, once the work touches structure, plumbing, electrical or gas lines, though the details depend on the jurisdiction. A like-for-like cabinet and countertop swap is treated differently from moving a wall or a range. We confirm the requirements for your address as part of planning a kitchen remodel.

04

Does altitude affect which appliances we can choose?

It can. Many gas appliances need a high-altitude adjustment or kit, and some manufacturers publish specific guidance for installations above certain elevations. We check each model's documentation against your home's elevation during kitchen design, before anything is ordered.

Tell us where the house is

Send the address, a floor plan if you have one, and what isn't working in the kitchen today. We'll take it from there.
